*Chattering electric fan - Maude Rubin says that there was a talking fan in his bedroom. It made a lot of noise. Actually the noise had been produced by the fan due to chatter which was produced by the whirling of its motor as it was not oiled properly.
*Mysterious sound - The poet says that the sound was mysterious to him. It was because he could not understand the language of the fan. He could feel only that it was trying to make him understand something.
*Remained mystery - Finally one day someone oiled the motor of that electric fan and it stopped talking. The poet says that the oiling of the motor of that electric fan spoiled all the mystery.
