The presented poetry piece "Vocation" by Rabindranath Tagore. The poet has drawn the authentic picture of a school going child and his wishes. The poem can be summarized in following way: -
*First wish to be hawker - Rabindranath Tagore says that the child goes to school in the morning. Everyday he sees a hawker who sells beautiful bangles. The hawker is free to go about fast or slow. He has freedom of time to return home. So the child wishes to be a street hawker to enjoy freedom.
*Second wish to be gardener - The poet says that the child returns home in afternoon. He watches a gardener digging the ground in the garden. Although his clothes are spoiled and sweats in the hot sun but nobody scold him. He has been enjoying freedom. Hence the child wants to be a gardener.
*Third wish to be watchman - In the night the child sees a watchman walking up and down in the street lonely without restrictions. The street light/lamp looks like a giant in his head who has a red eye. He has to be on duty whole night. So child wishes to enjoy walking freely.
